NWI Health Summit
Multicultural Wellness Network and Indiana Northwest School of Nursing are partnering together to host the 9th annual NWI Health Summit. The events purpose is to bring the public and experts together in a setting conducive to a discussion of the issue and solution development. The conversations are an excellent way to engage participants and get valuable feedback. The concept of the roundtable reinforces the notion that everyone has a part in promoting health and wellness in their communities.
The Summit is an all-day event, usually from 9am-3pm. The day consists of a combination of the roundtable (small group) discussions with an industry expert, short presentation and an expert panel on a major health related issue. The summit also features health information booths, lunch and giveaways.
Topics for discussion include Aging-how to care for ourselves, Healthy Gut through proper nutrition, Sickle Cell Anemia, Asthma and other respiratory ailments, and more. This event is free and open to the public; registration is required. Event is sponsored by Ameristar Casino and Hotel East Chicago and Powers Health.
