Longest Night Worship Service
For some of us the holidays expose old wounds and new grief. Whether it is a loss that we have experienced, a chair around our table that now sits empty, fractured relationships, the reminder of unfulfilled dreams, or the brokenness of the world; this time of year can be suffocating. There can be so much dissonance between what we feel and the bright and cheeriness that pervades this time of year. The longest night service seeks to provide a space for you to lament, cry, name your grief, pray, sing and hope in the presence of Christ. Please know that however you are feeling and whatever you are bringing into this season you are welcome here.
Grace Church is located on the southwest corner of Division Street and Bonnie Brae, one block west of Harlem Avenue, in River Forest, Illinois. Street parking is available along Division and Bonnie Brae. Read signs carefully — there are some restrictions depending on the day of the week. Concordia's parking garage is located on Bonne Brae as well for parking.
