This course offers a deeper dive into screenwriting, cinematography, directing, and editing. Working in filmmaking teams, participants collaborate with our expert media educators to explore both the technical and artistic sides of filmmaking, culminating in the production of an original, collaborative short film.
The next step: Enhance your skills with hands-on experience in editing and roles not covered in Film 101.
Creative solutions: Collaborate with your team to develop storytelling ideas and hone your creative problem-solving abilities.
Expanded possibilities: Whether or not you’re destined to be the next Ava DuVernay, you’ll master the 3 keys to filmmaking success: teamwork, empathy, and creativity.
Pre-Requisite: Participation in Film 101 is recommended before taking Film 102: Intermediate Filmmaking.
Graduates of Film 101 & Film 102 are invited to participate in the Children’s and Youth Juries of the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival. CICFF is the largest children’s film festival in the world and an Oscar®-qualifying children’s film festival.
