Mosaic Mirrors with Izzi Vasquez
Make your own mosaic mirror by upcycling pieces of broken plates, tiles, and shells. Participants will leave the workshop with a one-of-a-kind object, and techniques to continue making mosaics at home.
Izzi Vasquez (they/them) is a Chicago-based multimedia artist, designer, and animator from El Paso, TX. As a kid, their Abuela taught them how to create art and mosaics from found and broken objects. Their mosaic work was part of their solo exhibition, “I’ll Plant You A Garden,” in 2023 and featured in the Chicago Reader.
Since relocating to Chicago, they have collaborated with many Chicago area musicians to create album artwork, visuals, and animations and currently co-run Happy Gallery, a community art space in Humboldt Park. www.izzivasquez.fun
