Opal Vinopal is the solo project of Mike Vinopal, a Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter. Vinopal is the leader and founding member of the bluesy funk/soul band, Local Motive, the lead guitarist for post-grunge powerhouse, badcandy, and lead guitarist for the bold blues and soul-infused rock band, wht.rbbt.obj. Described as “a cosmic blend of folk, indie, and classic rock,” its intimate and expansive sound draws inspiration from a diverse range of influences creating something simultaneously fresh and nostalgic all at once. Vinopal's solo work strips down the complexities of his past projects, offering a more minimalist, yet equally powerful sonic experience.
