*Exhibition Opening* Mia Capodilupo: Hybrid Infestation
In Hybrid Infestation, Mia Capodilupo draws on science fiction, disease, pandemics, and climate change to create an immersive installation using found and fabricated wood, ceramics, plastics, semi precious stones, fabrics, plaster, and rubber. The installation spreads into every corner and crevice of the space, evoking an invasive and evolving ecosystem.
Her work merges the natural and industrial worlds to reflect the contemporary urban landscape. Through layered materials and textures, Capodilupo explores the tension between the glossy, colorful fantasy shaped by advertising and technology and a dystopian future marked by environmental degradation, disease, displacement, and income inequality.
Opening reception 5-9pm on July 10, 2026 at Art City, 1400 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL.
