Bach Akademie Charlotte: A Musical Offering
Bach Akademie Charlotte's ensemble performs “A Musical Offering,” featuring Johann Sebastian Bach's musical gift to Frederick the Great, King of Prussia—a fugue in six voices that features multiple canons, fugues, and a sonata. Also works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Johann Christoph Friedrich Bach, and Frederick the Great himself. Featuring special guest flutist Emi Ferguson, whose CD The New York Times calls “...blindingly impressive...a fizzing, daring display of personality and imagination.“
