In commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of our nation, The Charleston Museum is pleased to host a series of lectures, each focusing on a different aspect of Revolutionary War history.
From the Siege of Charleston to the Siege of Fort Motte to the Battle of Camden, battlefield archaeology has shed new light on some of the most significant battles in South Carolina during The American Revolution. Using historic background research along with systematic landscape and archaeological survey, historians and archaeologists alike have been able to document the scale of combat during the southern campaign in the war for independence. Join Curator of Archaeology and battlefield archaeologist John Fisher as he shares details of the amazing archaeological discoveries made throughout South Carolina in recent years which show the significance and intensity of the actions that happened in the state which led to American independence.
