JOG N JAM - a concert to benefit FISH OF SANCAP
FISH is celebrating the resilience of the islands by wrapping their event around the City of Sanibel’s 50th anniversary celebration. The JOG N JAM will begin with a 10K and 5K road race, Sanibel’s only race event. The races will begin and end at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle and a kids’ run will follow at the Sanibel Community Park. Later that afternoon, a music concert featuring the band Funk You will be held at ‘Tween Waters, complete with fireworks on the beach.
The JOG N JAM event is a fundraiser for FISH, the island’s only social services organization. The organization, focused on 'neighbors helping neighbors' has a vision to create communities where all people have the support they need to thrive. Their mission is to enrich the lives of all people in Sanibel and Captiva islands by neighbors helping neighbors with social services, education, and assistance.
Support for FISH and their event is made through sponsorships and, also new this year, merchandise sales. The cost of music concert tickets is tiered, starting at $75.00 through Sept. 30. Cost increases through Dec. 7. Concert goers are encouraged to ride-share or use the shuttle service provided by FISH. Food, drinks, and alcohol will be available for purchase. No outside alcohol and/or food will be permitted on the premises. See Run Sign Up for additional details.
