From Monday, March 3rd to Saturday, March 8th, the Academy at 4210 Fowler St #9, Fort Myers, FL 33901, will offer an array of activities using all weapons designed for participants of all ages and skill levels. This exciting week will be an action-packed celebration featuring fencing fun for kids, families, beginners, seasoned fencers, and everyone in between. Whether you're interested in learning about the sport for the first time, returning after an absence, or want to celebrate the rich history of the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy, there is something for everyone.
Monday, March 3rd
● Mini-Fence (4-5pm): Fencing fun for children ages 4-8.
● Bring a Friend to Fencing Night (5-7pm): An introductory evening for all ages.
Tuesday, March 4th
● Mini-Fence (5-6pm): Fencing fun for children ages 4-8.
● Intro to Fencing (6-7 pm): A beginner class for ages 9+ and adults.
Wednesday, March 5th
● Mini-Fence (4-5pm): Fencing fun for children ages 4-8.
● Bring a Friend to Fencing Night (5-7pm): An introductory evening for all ages.
Thursday, March 6th
● Mini-Fence (5-6pm): Fencing fun for children ages 4-8.
● Ladies' Night (6-7pm): An all-women's intro to fencing.
Friday, March 7th
● Homeschool Fencing Taster (11am-12 pm): for homeschooled children ages 9+
● Bring a Friend to Fencing Night/Game Night (6-8pm): An introduction for all ages followed by a social evening of fencing and other games.
Saturday, March 8th
● Bring a Friend to Fencing (9-10am): Beginner's fencing class.
● Intro to Fencing (10-11am): A fencing introduction for ages 9+ and adults.
● Bring a Friend to Fencing (11am-1pm): Intermediate training.
● 55+ Intro to Fencing (1-2pm): A class for those over age 55.
Saturday, March 8th Evening
● First Annual End of Fencing Week Party and Academy Birthday Celebration
(6-9pm): Join us as we celebrate the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy's incredible 50-year history with fun, food, and festivities.
All participants and volunteers get a free commemorative t-shirt while supplies last.
Founded in 1974, with Coach Johnson joining in 1984, the Southwest Florida Fencing Academy has been a premier destination for fencing instruction, fostering a love for the sport while promoting discipline, respect, and physical fitness. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the academy has trained hundreds of athletes, from casual enthusiasts to hard-core competitors. With a focus on youth development, fitness, and sportsmanship, it offers year-round classes, open bouting, and summer camps.
