Attorneys will host Law at Beacon of Hope, sponsored by the AARP Foundation, for area seniors in need of no-cost, limited legal advice in civil cases, including issues stemming from Hurricane Ian in 2022 and compounded by Milton in 2024. The upcoming session takes place at Beacon of Hope Pine Island from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to Lee County residents ages 50 and older.
The event will feature a free legal Q&A session, where attorneys will be available to answer questions with a special focus on hurricane-related issues such as insurance claims, housing and recovery resources.
Participation is free, and walk-ins are welcome, but registration is recommended. To register, please email [email protected] with contact information and a brief description of the legal advice being sought. Any relevant documents should be brought to the clinic. Those in attendance will also be welcome to giveaways provided by the Legal Aid Society, including pens, flash drives and cups.
