Punta Gorda Nature Park Free Class / Plants for Birds Garden Dedication
The event begins with a brief dedication ceremony for this latest addition to Punta Gorda Nature Park, including Ribbon of Nature cutting and sign unveiling. The first in a three-class series of free seminars will follow, as well as a guided park walkabout. Learn how birds, plants and insects are interconnected in the food web, including examples of ways that development can disrupt native habitats, resulting in harm to bird populations. Also learn how the park’s “Plants for Birds Garden” was designed to educate the public about why these native plants and trees are critical for sustaining resident and migratory bird populations.
