These songs represent a passion for the ocean, for relaxation, for escaping the troubles of modern life and seeing all the amazing places the world has to offer. Backing frontman, James Drakes is a world class rhythm section that gives Monallo its unmistakable live energy:
Veteran drummer/percussionist Alan Jax Bowers, whose credits include working with the Coral Reefer Band, Earth, Wind & Fire, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Matchbox Twenty, Kenny Rogers and many more.
And Sydney-born guitarist Pete "Pirate Pete" Robertson, with over 30 years of touring and recording experience alongside artists connected to AC/DC, Aerosmith, Joan Jett's Band, The Cult and beyond.
Together, they deliver a sound that blends alternative folk-rock warmth with beach-soaked grooves, Americana storytelling and a touch of island swing.
At its heart, Moon and Machine is about contrast - the organic and the mechanical, the tides and the traffic, the moonlit calm and the daily grind. It's music for those sitting at a desk with one eye out the window, already halfway to the coast.
