It’s a Stars of the 60s holiday edition just in time for the season featuring your most requested headliner of that era, The Lovin’ Spoonful! The Spoonful were America’s answer to the Beatles – with their first 7 singles soaring onto Billboard’s Top 10 charts virtually overnight. From the time the Spoonful formed in New York’s Greenwich Village in 1965, they appeared on every major TV show of the era including The Ed Sullivan Show, Hullabaloo and Shindig! Their first single, “Do You Believe in Magic,” exploded onto the charts and was followed by an unprecedented string of hits including: “Daydream,” “Summer in the City,” “You Didn’t Have to Be So Nice,” “Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind,” “Didn’t Want to Have to Do it,” “Younger Girl,” “Darling Be Home Soon,” “Jug Band Music,” “Rain on the Roof,” “Six o’Clock,” “Nashville Cats,” and “She’s Still a Mystery (to Me).” Today, the Lovin’ Spoonful tours with founding member Steve Boone alongside Jeff Alan Ross, Bill Cinque, Rob Bonfiglio and Mike Arturi. Together, they faithfully celebrate the rich, good-time catalog of hits that made them one of the world’s most beloved groups of the ‘60s.
Joining them will be The Cyrkle featuring original lead singer Don Dannemann, singing “Red Rubber Ball” and “Turn Down Day” as well as Motown ambassadors The Shades of Blue (“Oh How Happy” & more.) Presented by Scotty Productions in association with Pop, Rock & Doo Wopp.
