For the second Freshwater Flicks, we partnered with Wild & Scenic Film Festival to bring in some truly inspirational and fun films. You'll see nine short films - ranging from 5 to 20 minutes - with a variety of topics.
-There's one that highlights efforts to improve kayaking for teenage girls in Chile and another film where kayaking on the Zambezi River provides tourism jobs for locals.
-Thinking of our arts community, there is a film where a professor from Ohio advocates for toxic waste cleanup by creating art with that very pollution causing problems.
-See how people are trying to protect sections of the Colorado River through an aerial perspective, and hear about another family's conservation & fishing work within the Chesapeake Bay.
Each film aims to teach how other communities fight to protect their resources while inspiring others to act around their own homes. We think you would benefit watching these together with other Western New Yorkers for a fun afternoon to reenergize all in continuing the work for clean, safe water for all.
The afternoon will also feature an intermission where people can get drinks and food, which are included in the $50 ticket price.
Hope you'll join us and get your tickets early to make this a great Freshwater Flicks!
