Joshua's Boots

Joshua's Boots presented by Buffalo Opera Unlimited will play May 30th and 31st for a limited engagement. Parking is free and tickets are limited. Joshua’s Boots is a one-act opera by composer Adolphus Hailstork and librettist Susan Kander. Premiered in 1999, it tells the story of a Black teenager fleeing racial violence in Missouri who becomes a cowboy in Dodge City. Blending classical and African American musical traditions, the opera highlights resilience, identity, and the untold stories of Black pioneers in the American West.
