Have a Flamenco Fling with the Alborada Dancers at the OCL Lacey Branch

FORKED RIVER – Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an evening of flashy, fiery Flamenco. Treat yourself to “Hispanic Tapas with the Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre” at the Ocean County Library Lacey Branch, 6:30 PM Wednesday, September 25.

Experience the history of the diverse region of Andalucia as told through dance in this all- ages program. Delight your senses with swirling Flamenco finery, clattering castanets, flashing fans and shimmering shawls, plus lots of audience interaction.

The passion that the Alborada troupe brings to its performances bring to light the diversity of Spanish culture, with a repertoire that includes Gypsy Flamenco, Spanish classical and regional dances, and cross-currents of Hispanic, Celtic and Moorish cultures.

Artistic Director Eva Lucena carries on the mission of founder María Alba in delivering a panorama of Spanish culture and traditions to the communities that the group engages.
