Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, presents “Tidings True” this December in New York City. Spanning nine centuries, the program interweaves ancient and modern expressions of faith, wonder, and mystery. Highlights include the Sarum Christmas chant “Veni, redemptor gentium”; the 14th-century English motet “Sancta Mater—Dou way, Robyn”; and Renaissance master Jacobus Handl’s “Ante luciferum genitus.” The concert also features “The Fader of Heaven” by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies; “Ave Generosa” by Ola Gjeilo; Robert Applebaum’s spirited arrangement of “Oh Chanukah”; as well as other reflective selections that celebrate the season.
