This seasonal tours spends more time outside in the gardens before going inside, including visits to the Lord & Burnham Greenhouse and Foxglove Garden. Take in the spectacular blooms of the restored 19th-century gardens alongside the whimsical architecture of The Octagon House.
The Preservation Tour: Nothing is Impossible
11:30am and 2:30pm
This tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the restoration of The Armour-Stiner Octagon House. Learn the puzzle-like process of bringing the house back to its 1870s appearance from the brink of collapse.
Through November 3, 2025, all tours include the special installation The Garden of Earthly Delights and A Sentimental Education by Mark Dion and Dana Sherwood, on view in select rooms of the third floor.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Octagon House is a privately owned home and active residence. All visitors to the property must purchase tickets in advance and tour with a guide. Tours are recommended for ages 7+ and include three flights of stairs, and are therefore not suitable for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, or those who struggle to stand for extended periods of time.
