Guided Historic House Tours
Not only is The Octagon House a National Historic Landmark and the only known fully-domed octagonal house in the world, it's also fully air-conditioned! Come in out of the heat for one of three exciting guided tours. Tickets are $29/person and advanced purchase is required.
10am, 1 pm, and 4 pm - The Classic Tour: Inside The Octagon House is perfect for first time visitors or those returning to see The Octagon House again. Including both the exterior and interior of the home, this tour provides a foundational understanding of this iconic house.
11:30 am - The Preservation Tour: Nothing is Impossible tells the in-depth story of the restoration of The Armour-Stiner Octagon House. Learn the puzzle-like process of bringing the house back to its 1870s appearance from the brink of collapse.
2:30 pm - The Hudson River Valley Ramble Tour highlights the the local history, culture, and natural resources of the Hudson Valley. Explore our Lord & Burnham Greenhouse, learn about the Hudson Valley origins of octagonal homes, soak in the beauty of Hudson River School Paintings, and more!
PLEASE NOTE
The Octagon House is a privately owned home and active residence. All visitors to the property must purchase tickets and tour with a guide. Tours are recommended for ages 7+ and include three flights of stairs, and are therefore not suitable for wheelchair users, those with limited mobility, or those who struggle to stand for extended periods of time.
