Benett Tsai, cello, and Noreen Polera, piano on Sunday, April 12, 3 p.m., Sleepy Hollow High School
Known for his expressive musicality and technical finesse, Tsai appears as a recipient of the Friends of Music Concerts YCA Performance Award and in 2023 won the Susan Wadsworth International Auditions in New York. Polera’s mastery of the complete cello-piano repertory is widely known.
The concert program is: Claude Debussy, Cello Sonata, L. 135; Marin Marais, La Folia; Dmitri Shostakovitch, Cello Sonata in D minor, Op. 40; Ernest Bloch, From Jewish Life, B. 54; Krzysztof Penderecki, Cappriccio per Siegfried Palm; Nadia Boulanger, Trois Pièces for Cello and Piano; Bohuslav Martinů, Variations on a Theme of Rossini, H. 290. Meet the artists at a festive post-concert reception.
