. These talented young musicians will showcase their exceptional abilities in a FREE Concert, scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 7:00 PM at Saunders Trades and Technical High School.
These young, gifted musicians from Westchester County were selected for their outstanding technical skill, musicality, and overall artistry. They will each perform as soloists with the Yonkers Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director, Ariel Rudiakov.
1st Place: Matthew Pascutti, from Scarsdale, will perform the 1st movement of Lalo’s Cello Concerto in d minor.
2nd Place: Jessica Xu, also from Scarsdale, will perform the 3rd movement of Max Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1.
3rd Place: Luke Padovano, from Rye, will perform the 1st movement of Kabalevsky’s Cello Concerto in g minor.
The concert will conclude with a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7, A major Op. 92.
“The Young Artist Concerto Competition is one of the most important traditions of the Yonkers Philharmonic, and we are thrilled to celebrate these young talents,” said Victoria Jimpson-Fludd, President of the Fine Arts Orchestral Society of Yonkers, Inc. “We invite the community to come support these extraordinary performers, whose hard work and perseverance have earned them this well-deserved opportunity.”
This concert is made possible by a generous grant from the New York State Council on the Arts which serves to foster and advance the arts, culture, and creativity throughout New York State.
