BRIDGEMUSIK JAZZ AND CLASSICAL SUMMER FESTIVAL 2025 - FREE CONCERTS

BridgeMusik is proud to present its 8th Annual Summer Music Festival, taking place August 3–17, 2025, in Rockland County, New York. This vibrant two-week celebration of music and community brings together world-class jazz and classical artists with outstanding young musicians from the region and beyond, offering a unique side-by-side performance and learning experience. With all events open to the public and free of charge, the festival reflects BridgeMusik’s core mission: to provide accessible, high-quality music education and performance opportunities that inspire, connect, and uplift. The 2025 festival will be anchored at the air-conditioned and wheelchair-accessible Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) Auditorium in Tappan, NY, with additional performances hosted by local libraries and community centers throughout the region. Audiences of all ages are invited to enjoy an array of concerts, faculty showcases, and student recitals that celebrate a spirit of mentorship, creativity, and musical excellence. The festival is structured around two themed weeks: Jazz Week, running from August 3–10, and Classical Week, from August 11–17. Jazz Week launches with the Opening Concert on Sunday, August 3 at 4PM, titled “Suite Sounds of Gershwin and Bolling.” This genre-blending event features acclaimed pianist David Budway and a stellar lineup of BridgeMusik jazz faculty, including Tanya Witek (flute), Krystof Witek (violin), Annamaria Witek (cello), Bill Moring (bass), and Tony Jefferson (drums). The program highlights the music of George Gershwin and Claude Bolling, merging jazz idioms with classical flair in an engaging and sophisticated performance. Jazz Week continues with a series of community-based concerts, beginning with a morning jazz performance at the Blauvelt Free Library (Behringer Room) on Tuesday, August 5 at 11AM. On Saturday, August 9 at 2PM, the Nyack Library will host another lively jazz concert, bringing the festival’s signature energy and outreach to downtown Nyack. That evening, at 7PM, the spotlight shifts to the festival’s talented student performers with a special jazz recital at the OLSH Auditorium. Jazz Week concludes on Sunday, August 10 at 4PM with “Jazz Masters in Concert,” a powerful performance by the BridgeMusik jazz faculty that promises to be a true highlight of the summer season. Classical Week begins on Monday, August 11, and brings with it a broad range of chamber music, solo performances, and full ensemble works that showcase the depth of BridgeMusik’s classical program. On Tuesday, August 12 at 11AM, the Behringer Room at the Blauvelt Free Library will host an intimate chamber music concert featuring faculty and advanced students. A particularly special event, “J.S. Bach: A Sound Sanctuary,” takes place on Thursday, August 14 at 7:30PM in the Little Chapel at OLSH. This meditative program centers on the timeless works of Johann Sebastian Bach, inviting listeners to experience the spiritual and emotional resonance of his music in a contemplative setting. Classical Week continues on Saturday, August 16 with two major events. At 2PM, the Valley Cottage Library will present a chamber music concert performed by festival participants; attendees are encouraged to reserve seats through the library’s website. Later that evening, audiences are invited to enjoy the Classical Student Recitals at OLSH Auditorium, with two showcase sessions at 6:30PM and 8PM featuring solo and small ensemble performances by emerging young artists from across the festival’s program. The festival culminates in a grand finale on Sunday, August 17 at 4PM with the “Festival Finale: Beethoven to Sousa.” This joyful and spirited concert brings together over 50 musicians—faculty, students, and guest artists—in a rousing orchestral program that spans beloved classical repertoire and patriotic favorites. Performed in the main OLSH Auditorium, the Festival Finale is a celebration of everything BridgeMusik stands for: artistic excellence, intergenerational collaboration, and community engagement through the power of music. Now in its eighth year, BridgeMusik continues to expand its reach and impact across Rockland County and the Lower Hudson Valley. The Summer Festival reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity, affordability, and artistic excellence, with generous scholarships ensuring that no student is turned away due to financial need. Audiences are encouraged to explore the full schedule of events, all of which are offered free of charge thanks to the support of public and private sponsors, community partners, and generous individuals who believe in the transformative power of music.
