Free Film Screening - For the Living + post viewing discussion with filmmakers

At the heart of the documentary FOR THE LIVING is the true story of ten-year-old Holocaust survivor Marcel Zielinski, who in 1945 walked 60 miles from Auschwitz to Krakow in search of his parents or any surviving family. In 2019, 250 cyclists from 12 countries—including fellow Holocaust survivors—gathered to retrace Marcel’s path to freedom in a powerful act of remembrance and empathy known as the “Ride for the Living.” Through Marcel’s harrowing journey and the compassion shown decades later, the film explores humanity’s fragile balance between our darkest impulses and our capacity for empathy—between Dehumanization and Empathy. Darkness and Light.
