Join us for a screening of Dorothea Lange: Grab a Hunk of Lightning, an intimate documentary about the life and work of pioneering photographer Dorothea Lange, featured in Modern Women / Modern Vision. Through never-before-seen photographs, film footage, journals, and family memories, the film traces Lange’s remarkable career documenting pivotal moments in American history—from the Great Depression and Dust Bowl to World War II incarceration camps. Directed by her granddaughter, Dyanna Taylor, the documentary also reflects on Lange’s creative process, including the making of her iconic Migrant Mother, and the challenges of sustaining a life in art.
