Hamnet will be the 2nd film in the 13th Annual Academy Awards Film Series at the Englewood Library on Thursday, April 23, at 2 p.m. in the library’s Room 2. The program is free and open to the public. Because space is limited, those who register will have priority. Registration can be found at bccls.libcal.com/event/16595578. The film series will continue each Thursday through May 28 at 2 p.m.
In late 16th-century England, Agnes Jesse Buckley in her Oscar-winning role), a healer sensitive to the world around her, builds a home with William (Paul Mescal), a local tutor and aspiring playwright. As their lives fracture, they are tested by distance, silence, and grief. Hamnet co-stars Joe Alwyn, Emily Watson and Jacobi Jupe.
This Chloe Zhao film directed film received 8 Academy Award nominations, winning one (Buckley). Hamnet is rated PG-13, and the running time for the film is 125 minutes.
