Threads Of Community

Threads of Community brings together artists whose practices are rooted in the fiber arts—stitching, weaving, embroidery, crochet, knitting, and fiber construction. Through both tradition and innovation, these artists transform fiber into a powerful language of connection, memory, and making. Some artists draw upon techniques passed down through families and across generations, reimagining time-honored processes to create distinctly contemporary works. Others expand the boundaries of the medium altogether, inventing new approaches—such as stitching with staples or “painting” with fabric tubes—that redefine what fiber art can be. Featured artists Faustin Adeniran, Carlos Biernnay, Naomi Clark, Linda Colletta, Ruben Marroquin, Sooo-z Mastropiece, Christina Morrow, and Liz Squillace each contribute a unique voice, weaving personal histories, cultural narratives, and experimental processes into a rich and varied exhibition. Upstairs, in the loft gallery, the creative work of artists and designers from Red Fashion School continues this conversation, where fiber seamlessly connects fine art, fashion, and design. Threads of Community reminds us that community is not a single thread, but a tapestry—woven from many hands, stories, and shared experiences.
