Starting October 23rd, the 6-session Leadership Program is open for professionals of all levels working in the corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors. The program will allow the leadership class to explore 5 leadership principles as well as an orientation to the Greater New Haven Region. Class participants will receive training that underscores various leadership styles and strategies for team and staff management, team collaboration, navigating a multi-generational and diverse workforce, strategic planning, emotional intelligence; PLUS the sharpening of professional skills, such as public speaking, personal branding, business communications, and more! In addition, a significant amount of time will be spent on addressing resiliency and leadership strategies during constant change and disruption. One past alumnus commented, “Leadership Greater New Haven gave me an opportunity to work with individuals who shared the same goal of wanting to be a successful leader. This program gave me a greater understanding of how to work with people who come to the table with different intentions but who walk away with the same satisfaction of completion.” Expected Outcomes/Key Deliverables For LGNH: -Development/Enhancement of Core Leadership competencies -Skills to cultivate professional transformation and mastery of leadership style -Insider’s views of New Haven’s regional connections and resource -Social awareness and relationship management through difficult times Continuing this year, is a diversity immersion program in which participants connect with community business leaders, learn about community programs, and are given resources, tools, and projects to grow or improve connections within diverse populations and professional organizations or businesses. Additionally, the topics of self-awareness, Conscious and Unconscious Biases, improving team engagement, and strategies for fostering inclusive and equitable cultures internally and externally, will be covered. “The Greater New Haven Leadership Center was an awesome experience for me. I learned so much about the region and the New Haven business community. I also learned quite a bit about myself. It is an extremely beneficial program to both non-profit and business leaders.” During LGNH sessions, participants will have a unique opportunity to apply their leadership competencies to solve real business issues. Participants are divided into teams and assigned to solve a strategic challenge that will be identified by companies or organizations.
