Sunday Service in Danbury

We are a community of people who seek to serve God the way that Jesus did: By working to make God’s vision of a peaceful, just and inclusive world a reality. We believe that God is still speaking in ways that are grounded in ancient Christian understandings, but which are fresh expressions of the Divine presence in contemporary life. We offer a time of prayer, music, fellowship and joy as we come together to grow in faith. “... that they may be one ...” Our doors are open to all God's children. God's children are: * Married, single, divorced, widowed, in a relationship, going solo. * Employed, unemployed, self-employed, semi retired, retired. * Female, male, straight, gay, lesbian, queer, transgender, ally, asexual. * Black, brown, white, shades in between. * Active duty, Reserve, National Guard, veteran, conscientious objector, uniformed civilian first responder. * Blondes, bald, brunettes, red heads, gray, salt-and-pepper, however you color your hair, however you cut it (or not). * Conservative, liberal, moderate, MAGA, progressive, Republican, Democrat, independent, none of the above, voter, non-voter. * Documented immigrants, undocumented immigrants, native born, citizen, First Nation. * Healthy, ill, strong, compromised health. * Joyful, grieving, despondent, not-sure-just-hanging-in-there. * Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Shinto, indigenous, all faiths, kinda spiritual, no faith, atheist, agnostic, none of the above. * Alcoholics, drug users, in recovery, out of recovery, raw-dogging it, clean and sober. * Traditional families, broken families, blended families, families of choice. * Poor in spirit. * In mourning. * Meek. * Hungering and thirsting for righteousness. * Merciful. * Pure in heart. * Peacemakers. * Persecuted because of righteousness. Our doors are open because this was Jesus’ prayer: "My prayer is not for [the Disciples] alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one — I in them and you in me — so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (John 17:20-23)
