Donation Drive-Thru Event in Newtown!
Newtown Church Youth Hosts Donation Drive-Thru
The youth from Christ the King Church in Newtown, CT will be hosting a donation drive-thru on Saturday, March 21 from 9:00-12:00. All donated items will be given to the Dorothy Day Hospitality House in Danbury, which serves the homeless and needy population of Danbury. The complete list of items accepted include:
TRAVEL SIZED TOILETRIES:
* Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, razors, shaving cream,
deodorant
CLOTHING ITEMS:
* Men’s winter gloves, hats, boots (gently used and clean is acceptable)
* NEW men’s socks, underwear, t-shirts
FOOD ITEMS:
* Cookies, granola bars, pop tarts
* Individually Wrapped Snacks
* Canned Vegetables, black beans, kidney beans, chili
* Cases of 16 oz bottled water
* Instant Mashed Potatoes
* Grape and Strawberry Jelly
* Ground Coffee (regular), hot chocolate mix
* Cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup
* Canned chicken, beef stew
* Tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, spaghetti sauce
* Applesauce
* Spices, salt, pepper, hot sauce, sugar, cooking oil, salad dressing, parmesan cheese, mayonnaise
* Canned Gravy (Beef, Chicken and Turkey), chicken broth/stock
All you need to do is drive through, and we will unload your car for you! We invite you to join us in helping our needy neighbors, and look forward to seeing you!
