The concert will be held in Winchester Unitarian Society’s sanctuary, 478 Main Street, Winchester, Saturday, May 10th, at 8:00 PM. Doors will open at 7:30 PM. The concert will also be live-streamed.
Cynthia MacLeod (www.cynthiamacleod.com) is one of P.E.I.’s finest ambassadors of Atlantic Canada’s vibrant music traditions, with a fiddling style that reflects her local roots, Cape Breton’s Celtic rhythms, and her ancestral connection to the Scottish Highlands. Since the start of her career as a young teenager, MacLeod has performed across Canada, in the U.S, and around the world, thrilling audiences with her electrifying fiddling style and captivating personality. MacLeod has released four critically acclaimed studio albums, and garnered numerous nominations and awards, including P.E.I. Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014.
MacLeod and Gordon Belsher (www.guernseycove.ca) met in 2002 when she recorded her award-winning debut album “Head Over Heels” at Belsher’s renowned Guernsey Cove studio in southeast P.E.I. They’ve toured extensively since then in Canada and the U.S. As a much sought after accompanist, featured vocalist, and solo performer, Gordon Belsher has appeared on stages across Canada and around the world for more than 50 years. His solo recordings have won countless local and regional music awards. He is also a recipient of a P.E.I. Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his music and contributions to P.E.I.’s music industry.
Suggested donations at the door are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students. Masks are optional. The venue is handicapped accessible, and street parking is available.
