Join us for the First Annual Dana Chang Foundation 5K Run/1K Walk for Heart Anomaly Awareness!
NATICK, MA – Lace up your shoes and run with purpose! The Dana Chang Foundation is hosting its Inaugural 5K Run/1K Walk on Sunday, April 27, 2025, 8:30 a.m. at Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA, to raise awareness for congenital heart anomalies.
This event, in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital, is more than a race—it’s a community coming together to save lives. All proceeds will fund life-saving early detection programs, helping to prevent tragedies caused by undiagnosed heart conditions.
The Dana Chang Foundation was founded in memory of Dana Chang, a brilliant young artist and musician who tragically passed away in 2024 from an undiagnosed heart condition. Her parents, John Chang and June Song, are determined to ensure no other family faces this unimaginable loss. “What began as a way to honor Dana has become a movement to save lives,” says John Chang, Foundation President.
The goal? To raise $50,000 to support heart health education, early detection programs, and awareness efforts. Over 300 participants, including families from Walnut Hill School for the Arts and Belmont Day School, are expected to take part.
“Dana’s passion for life continues to inspire us. This race is a tribute to her spirit,” says Tom Keenan, Race Director and Dana’s mentor.
Be part of the change! Run, walk, volunteer, or cheer on April 27. Together, let’s ensure no family loses a child to an undiagnosed heart condition.
