Featuring: Pianist Tim Ray, Saxophonist/Flutist/Vocalist Stan Strickland, Cellist Catherine Bent, Bassist John Lockwood and Percussionist Ricardo Monzon
PoemJazz is Robert Pinsky’s innovative dialogue between poetry and music, intertwining language and instrument to emphasize the physical and melodic qualities of voice. This unique performance explores how jazz improvisation can speak, creating an engaging and dynamic experience for the audience.
Pinsky’s most recent books include Proverbs of Limbo and his memoir entitled Jersey Breaks: Becoming an American Poet; available for purchase at the event.
