The first weekend of every month, Bank of America's monthly "Museums on Us" program offers free admission to a number of Boston's most prestigious museums.
The nationwide program is available to all Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders, and opens up more than 225 of the nation's most prominent cultural institutions in 35 states. In Massachusetts, the participating museums are:
- The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston Featured Exhibit: "Divine Color: Hindu Prints from Modern Bengal" through May 31
- The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston Featured Exhibit: "An Indigenous Present" through March 8
- The Peabody Essex Museum, Salem Featured Exhibit: "Draw Me Ishmael: The Book Arts of Moby Dick" through March 29
- EcoTarium, Worcester New Exhibit: "The Secret World of Elephants," opening March 7
- The Mount, Edith Wharton's home in Lenox: Featured Exhibit: "The Stuff of Life: Reading Wharton in the 21st Century"
- Orchard House, Louisa May Alcott's home in Concord
- Springfield Museums New Exhibit: "Math Alive!"
- Fitchburg Art Museum: New Exhibit: "Kaleidoscope: 100 Years of Collecting for Our Community"
- The New Bedford Whaling Museum Featured Exhibit: "Ahab’s Head: American Vengeance"
- The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum (Saturdays only) Penn-Colombo Gallery Exhibit: “We Remember John F. Kennedy, Jr.”
Bank of America offers this benefit to promote greater cultural understanding, expand accessibility to the arts, and strengthen communities. Upon arriving at a participating institution, customers need only present their Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit card along with a photo ID to gain free general admission for themselves.
