The first weekend of every month, Bank of America's monthly "Museums on Us" program offers free admission to a number of Boston's most prestigious museums.
The nationwide program is available to all Bank of America, Merrill, and Bank of America Private Bank cardholders, and opens up more than 225 of the nation's most prominent cultural institutions in 35 states. In Massachusetts, the participating museums are:
- The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston New Exhibit: "Of Light and Air: Winslow Homer in Watercolor"
- The Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston New Exhibit: "An Indigenous Present"
- The Peabody Essex Museum, Salem New Exhibit: "Andrew Gn: Fashioning the World"
- EcoTarium, Worcester New Permanent Exhibit: "Lift Off! Space Explorers"
- The Mount, Edith Wharton's home in Lenox
- Orchard House, Louisa May Alcott's home in Concord
- Springfield Museums One Stop, Five Museums: "The Grinch's Grotto" is open Nov. 22 through Jan. 11
- Fitchburg Art Museum: Re-opening to the public Dec. 2
- The New Bedford Whaling Museum New Exhibit: Coquilla Nut Carvings: An Afro-Brazilian Artform
- The John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum (Saturdays only) New Exhibit: "JFK: The Three Miles" Documentary
Bank of America offers this benefit to promote greater cultural understanding, expand accessibility to the arts, and strengthen communities. Upon arriving at a participating institution, customers need only present their Bank of America, Merrill or Bank of America Private Bank credit or debit card along with a photo ID to gain free general admission for themselves.
