From the icy waters of the Arctic to the vast seas surrounding Antarctica, some of the world’s most majestic whales make their home in Earth’s coldest environments. Join Amanda Hunter, marine biologist and polar expedition guide, to explore how these extraordinary creatures have adapted to life in such extreme conditions and why they migrate to the planet’s polar regions. Discover how whales play a vital role in maintaining ocean health and combating climate change.
A viewing of the online lecture will be held in the Event Center at Abbot Public Library, followed by a discussion session.

Amanda Hunter’s passion for the ocean, wildlife, conservation, and her international experience led her to become a marine biologist and polar expedition guide. She is one of the proud founders of Ocean Youth Academy, a non-profit organization dedicated to connecting youth to our planet’s oceans. Hunter is excited to share with others the magic of our natural world and to guide people through "once in a lifetime" experiences.
