Marblehead’s renovated library on Pleasant Street is now in full swing, and the Friends would like to ramp up activities.
The Friends of Abbot Public Library is an association of people who love learning, libraries, books and media. They specialize in book sales at the Sail Away Bookshop inside the library and have quarterly Book Donation Drives and Discount Sales, with all proceeds used for library programs. They are currently seeking volunteers.
Please consider donating your time and energy to these types of activities. Note that many tasks involve physical labor of moving boxes and carts of books.
- Book Shop Manager
- Book Shop Staff – 2 or more hours weekly
- Friends’ Product Sales
- Donation Day intake
- Donated book sorting
- Book Sale event planning, setup, selling and takedown
- Book disposals
Help the Friends develop and execute an efficient and fun book exchange network in Marblehead!
Attend our Volunteer Event on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in the Scully Salon at Abbot Public Library to meet Friends and Library Staff to talk about how you can get involved.
