Cookbook Club

Join us on Wednesday, April 8 at 12 p.m. in the Event Center for this month’s Cookbook Club. The Abbot Public Library Cookbook Club aims to be a starting point for a conversation about food, recipes, and an exploration of the evolving American kitchen. At each meeting, a book or theme will be explored in discussions of recipe, construction, background, cooking, display and tasting. Space is limited, and registration is required. Please register at tinyurl.com/April-2026-Cookbook. This month, the group will be exploring chef Mary Ann Esposito’s cookbooks. Register to receive the full list of books and recipe sign-up link! Participants will be encouraged to delve into and enjoy the spirit of the featured books, then choose a recipe that suits their comfort level and budget to bring to the next meeting for tasting. Remember, you eat first with your eyes, so presentation is the invitation. As most cookbook recipes are written for 6 or 8 servings, that will be our tasting amount. Food should travel easily from home to the Library and require minimal heating and set up, keeping in mind that there are minimal kitchen facilities available at the Library. Save the Date! The next program will be held on May 13. Linda Bassett, author of “From Apple Pie to Pad Thai: Neighborhood Cooking North of Boston” and food column writer for Marblehead Current, will lead the discussion. This program is sponsored by the Friends of Abbot Public Library.
