ROAR for Kids 5k Race and Low-Mileage Fun Walk
Kennedy Krieger Institute’s ROAR for Kids, an accessible 5K race and low-mileage fun walk, returns this spring to the Maryland Zoo on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Mark your calendars for this Sunday-Fun-Day event that encourages individuals of all ages to get outside, get moving and get ready to have a ROAR’ing good time.
Participants can ROAR with Kennedy Krieger any way they’d like—running, walking or rolling through the scenic zoo course. Wheelchair and stroller racers are welcome! This year’s finish-line activities include visits from two of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors as well as a dance-off with local school and sports team mascots. All race participants receive discounted zoo admission for Sunday, April 12.
Participants and teams can register online and build their own fundraising pages. Proceeds can be directed to a Kennedy Krieger program of their choice or to the Institute.
