Washington Winter Show

The Washington Winter Show – the country’s second oldest charity antique show – is celebrating its 70th anniversary from Jan. 10-12 with fine art and antiques from more than 40 dealers. The theme for 2025, “Preserving the Future of Our Past,” inspired one of the most ambitious loan exhibits to date, featuring items together for the first time from seven of the country’s most important historic houses, including: Anderson House, Gunston Hall, Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens, Mount Vernon, Stratford Hall, Tudor Place, and Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. Lectures and panel discussions led by some of the country’s top names in design and historic preservation (Jennifer Gracie and Zach Shea of Gracie Studios; Katie Ridder, Elle Decor A-List member; Peter Pennoyer, Architects and AD100 member; and Emma Bazilian of FREDERIC magazine) will focus on preserving treasured objects and incorporating them into decor. The Fund to Conserve U.S. Diplomatic Treasures Abroad will lead a discussion on the role of cultural diplomacy at embassies around the world, with representatives from the U.S. Department of State. Also new this year is a Sundaes on Sunday event with the Young Collectors Circle, a group open to anyone 40 or younger who loves antiques or wants to learn about building a collection. During the past 70 years, the Washington Winter Show has provided almost $10 million to its chosen charities and will benefit The Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, St. John’s Community Services, and Building Bridges Across the River in 2025. Tickets may be purchased at ww.washingtonwintershow.org.
