Join us at Gallery 1448 for the opening reception of Richard Roth: Through the Years.
Richard Roth is a Baltimore artist whose work is deeply shaped by the city he adopted in 1961. Originally visiting college friends, he was captivated by Baltimore’s industrial landscape and historic seaport, ultimately choosing to stay and build both his life and career there as an educator and artist.
His paintings and sculptural objects are created through construction-based methods and layered with the textures, surfaces, and finishes of the working world. Baltimore’s history, grit, and resilience remain central sources of inspiration throughout his work.
Roth graduated from Ball State University and later earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from MICA. He retired from Catonsville Community College, where he served as Chair of the Sculpture Department.
The show runs through June 27. There will also be a closing reception on Saturday, June 27, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Admission is free. Gallery hours are by appointment; contact Richard Roth at 410-685-1331 / [email protected].
