Norma's Latke Brunch
Celebrate Hanukkah at “Norma’s Latke Brunch,” in person in the Temple Beth El Social Hall or for drive- thru, Sunday, December 15, 2024, 12:00—2:00 pm Temple Beth El, 2906 Loma Linda Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93305. Meals can be ordered on the Temple Beth El website, www.templebethelevent.org.
The Latke Brunch has been an annual celebration at Temple Beth El for more than 25 years.. The meal is served with Latkes (potato pancakes), applesauce and/or sour cream, Norma's Ortega Cheese Souffle and other condiments. Other brunch items are available at an additional cost.
Items that are cooked in oil represent the "Festival of Lights". Miraculously, the people of Israel lit the menorah and the one-day supply of oil lasted for eight days, until new oil could be prepared under conditions of ritual purity.
