Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Omega Omega Chapter, with the support of the Bakersfield Ivy Legacy Foundation, Inc. will host its 46th African American Graduation Awards Program on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 6 p.m. at The Bakersfield High School Harvey Auditorium, located at 1241 G Street, Bakersfield, CA. The theme for this year's Graduation Awards Program is “And...Still We Rise in 2025!”.
8th Grade Recognition - Letters were sent out to 30 middle and junior high schools from various school districts in Kern County to identify African American students for recognition by the Kappa Omega Omega Chapter and The Bakersfield Ivy Legacy Foundation at the 46th Graduation Awards Program. The Awards Committee received names of over 360 8th-grade honor roll recipients from 26 junior high/middle schools who will be recognized for their stellar commitment to academic excellence.
High School Recognition - Students with a GPA of up to 4.5 will be recognized and honored for their high academic achievement and excellence both inside and outside of the classroom, including community service, leadership, and written essays. Applications were received from numerous high schools across multiple school districts. Seventeen Kern County high schools are represented among the high school award recipients. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Kappa Omega Omega Chapter, with the support of The Bakersfield Ivy Legacy Foundation, will be honoring 47 outstanding seniors from those schools who demonstrate excellence inside and outside of the classroom.
