Boley showcases a completely new body of work. Working in cut and sanded metal, ink glazes, and thin layers of acrylic, she builds each piece toward a single point where something breaks and something new takes its place. Many of the works rest on reflective metal surfaces that stand in for a mirror, returning a fractured image rather than a whole one. "I have been thinking a lot about gaining strength through tension. To experience tension is to change," says Boley of the series.
