AUSTIN, TX (November 2024)—Between the Pages, an Austin-based literacy non-profit, is holding its second annual talent show to raise funds for 2025 programming. The organization’s mission is to empower children to discover a life-long love of reading, using books as tools to immerse at-risk and avid readers in an engaging recreation of their favorite books, fostering literacy, creative play, creative writing, and cooperative problem-solving.
The event, organized by Between the Pages’ year-round team, will feature performances and talents from Camp Half-Blood campers and staff alike, showcasing their unique talents and creativity. Between the Pages has a proven track record of encouraging self-expression and creating community among participants, and this talent show will be no exception! Audience members can expect a night of heartwarming and eclectic performances showcasing the variety of skills and experiences that Camp Half-Blood and Between the Pages celebrate.
This event will be at Radio on Menchaca ATC on Sunday, November 24th, from 7 PM to 9 PM CST. The event is donation-suggested, and donations can be made directly to Between the Pages’ website: www.between-the-pages.org
Funds raised will be used to:
Fund the Hero Training Program, which BTP runs cost-free in Austin Schools
Print Hero Anthologies, with stories written by Hero Training Program participants
Fund Camp Half-Blood programming and accessibility initiatives
Increase ESL and Braille book offerings within BTP Programming
Secure hardcover books for each BTP participant
