Future of Downtown 2026
The Downtown Austin Alliance will host its annual Future of Downtown event on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the historic Paramount Theatre. The annual gathering will convene business leaders, residents, property owners and community stakeholders for the official release of the 2026 State of Downtown report and a forward-looking discussion about downtown Austin’s trajectory.
The evening will feature welcome remarks from Mayor Kirk Watson and a keynote address from Downtown Austin Alliance President and CEO Davon Barbour. In addition to key insights from the State of Downtown report, guests will enjoy an immersive experience that captures the city’s creative spirit—complete with local artists, music, light bites, and drinks. This year marks the first time the Future of Downtown program will be held at the historic Paramount Theatre, one of downtown’s most iconic cultural institutions.
