In The Wedding Banquet (1993), Ang Lee’s American debut, a gay man puts on an elaborate traditional wedding reception to hide his identity from his Taiwanese family. A marriage of convenience becomes anything but in this bittersweet screwball comedy.
This screening is co-presented by Austin Asian American Film Festival (AAAFF), a nonprofit organization that champions Asian and Asian American stories through film and creative media.
