What to Expect
Throughout the day, attendees can participate in outdoor sketching, chalk murals, mosaic stepping stones, ceramics, and gesture drawing classes. Dancers will light up Main Street with flamenco, BollyX, Boot Scootin’, Ballet Folklorico, 80s dance, and Zumba, while live music will spill out of restaurants and patios, from acoustic folk in the afternoon to high-energy bands at night. Families will enjoy the Children’s Corner, a toad sculpture scavenger hunt, and the chance to discover Bastrop’s Bird Junction sculptures. Couples can spend the day creating art together before catching a show, while singles and groups of friends can dance, join competitions, and explore Bastrop’s nightlife. In addition, the Museum & Visitor Center will host music and demonstrations in honor of Indigenous People’s Day, adding a cultural dimension to the celebration.
