Myths and Makers
Myths and Makers is a dynamic dance production by Shakti Moves Dance Company that responds to the persistent dissolution of women’s rights in modern America. Attend the show at Ground Floor Theatre from September 26-28, 2024 at 8:00 p.m., with a matinee viewing at 2:00 p.m. on September 28.
From the cosmos to the jungle, Myths and Makers highlights the role of the feminine archetype through a collection of performances, taking viewers on an evocative journey of exploration and catharsis. Audiences can expect two full length pieces, group and solo performances, and bilingual spoken word. Before and after the show, attendees can experience a visual arts exhibit in the lobby of Ground Floor Theatre featuring work by local Austin artists Renee Nunez, Amelia Turner, Ion Mot, and photographer Stephen Pruitt. ASL interpretation as well as Spanish translation available. This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department.
