Ernie Durawa Welcomes musician Jorge Castillo to Headline The Backstage at El Mercado South
Jorge Castillo has performed in and fronted bands for the past 34 years in Austin. Since 2018 he’s been playing monthly residencies at the Saxon Pub with long-time band the Drakes every Wednesday, and at C-Boy’s Heart & Soul with Mike and the BurnAlls every Sunday. Jorge can also be seen playing around town with his band the Jorge Castillo Trio, Easy Trouble, Beth Lee and the Breakups, Jeff & the Jumptones, the Gladiators Big Band, and Fake It To The Limit (Austin’s Tribute to the Music of the Eagles). Jorge has played with Sunset Heights, Soapbox, the Salingers, the Leavers, the Gene Pool, Sons of the Revolution, The Beckham Brothers, Shannon Lee Nelson, Julie Nolen, Tyrone Vaughan, George DeVore, the John Deery Band, the Millgan Vaughan Project (MVP), Malford Milligan, and many others.
Doors: 6:30 pm. Showtime: 7:15 pm. Cover: $15 (Cash). Tasty Tex-Mex and Margaritas served in the showroom plus ample free parking.
