Musical Mediation I: “Under the Cross”
Cello solo by Francesco Mastromatteo. A musical experience that embraces the emotional power of sufferance and describes all human beings' strength to overcome sorrow featuring works by Bach, Crumb, Piazzolla. Part of the “The East in the West: Sounds, Minds and Dharma” Spring Festival presented by Classical Music For the World (CMFW) with events April 18-May 4 featuring performances by Italian artists Francesco Mastromatteo, cello, Noemi Passiatore, classical guitar, University of Austin professor, Sandy Yamamoto, violin, as well as musicians from Austin Symphony Orchestra and the Butler School of Music at UT Austin. All events are free and open to the public with receptions following each event. All ages are welcome.
